Metro Detroit Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga offers the same benefits of a more traditional yoga class, but also provides certain unique qualities that can take your yoga practice to new heights! The hammocks are used as a prop for our yoga postures, keeping aerial classes consistent to floor classes.  Our classes provide a space to reach your edge in a completely safe space.

Frequently asked questions

+ Is aerial yoga experience required to take class?

There is no experience necessary for our Intro to Aerial classes. We require new aerial students take a minimum of three intro classes before participating in any other aerial classes offered. Please refer to our class descriptions to learn more about the classes we offer.

If you have any pre-existing conditions such as vertigo or injuries you believe may impact your aerial yoga practice, consult your care provider before registering for class. Reach out to our Director of Aerial Yoga at with any further questions you may have.

+ What should I wear?

Please wear fitted clothing that covers both the backs of the knees and armpits. This will provide protection from the silk rubbing directly on the skin. Remove all jewelry and clothing with zippers prior to class as it can snag the fabric during practice. Please be mindful to not apply hand lotion, perfumes, or essential oils before class.

+ Do I need a yoga mat to practice?

Yes. Though the majority of class will be spent using the hammock, we still use the ground for support. We have mats available to borrow if you do not have one.

+ Can I practice aerial yoga if I am pregnant?

We always recommend checking in with your care provider before registering for your first aerial yoga class. In our experience, those within the first trimester of pregnancy are able to comfortably practice aerial yoga.

Yes, pre-registration is required to take our aerial yoga classes. You may pre-register for class online, by calling one of our studios, or reaching out directly to our Director of Aerial Yoga at We allow a maximum of ten students per class. A minimum amount of two students is needed to hold class. In the event of a cancellation, students will be notified via text message or phone call.

+ What if I cannot attend the class I have pre-registered for?

Due to the limited number of spaces in each class we abide by a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. There are no refunds or transfers for classes cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled class time. If a cancellation is made 24 hours in advance, your pre-paid class can be used on a future class.
