Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga offers the same benefits of a more traditional yoga class, but also provides certain unique qualities that can take your yoga practice to new heights! The hammocks are used as a prop for our yoga postures, keeping aerial classes consistent to floor classes. Our studios are AIReal certified and provide a space to reach your edge in a safe environment.

Aerial Yoga Class Styles

Intro / Progressive: These classes are structured to get new flyers acquainted to the hammock and understanding how to utilize it as a prop to elevate, alleviate and exhilarate the mind & body. They are taught in a progressive style, so each class builds onto the next, giving students the ability to trust the hammock and themselves.

Restorative: These classes are structured to be slower and (sometimes) lower. Similar to restorative on the floor, only utilizing the hammock to deepen and let go.

Aerial Yoga FAQs

+ Is aerial yoga experience required to take class?

There is no experience necessary for our aerial yoga classes, unless otherwise noted.

If you have any pre-existing conditions such as vertigo or injuries you believe may impact your aerial yoga practice, consult your care provider before registering for class.

+ What should I wear?

You will likely feel most comfortable in fitted clothing that covers both the backs of the knees and armpits. This will provide protection from the silk rubbing directly on the skin. Remove all jewelry and clothing with zippers prior to class as it can snag the fabric during practice. Please be mindful to not apply hand lotion, perfumes or essential oils before class.

+ Do I need a yoga mat to practice?

Yes. Though the majority of class will be spent using the hammock, we still use the ground for support.

+ Can I practice aerial yoga if I am pregnant?

We always recommend checking in with your care provider before registering for your first aerial yoga class.

+ Do I need to pre-register for aerial classes?

Yes, pre-registration is required to take our aerial yoga classes. You may pre-register for class online or by calling one of our studios.

+ What if I cannot attend the class I have pre-registered for?

Due to the limited number of spaces in each class we do have a 24 hour cancellation policy. There are no refunds or transfers for classes cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled class time. If a cancellation is made 24 hours in advance, your pre-paid class may be used on a future class. *Please note this policy excludes aerial yoga series.

+ How do I book an aerial party or private?

Our aerial privates and parties are a great way to have a personalized experience. Please reach out to our team at yogi@boldflowyoga.com for information on rates and bookings!
