I started practicing yoga in 2006 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and instantly felt connected. A couple years later the company I was working for went bankrupt, I was left wondering what to do with my life. I had to move home and take on jobs that were incredibly humbling. And every night I went to yoga. That nightly practice gave me strength, helped me find balance and kept me calm through all the chaos. I
will forever be grateful to my teachers at Yoga Shelter who taught me so much about loving yourself and finding peace.

I was blessed with landing an amazing job that took my to New Jersey when I continued to practice at Garden State Yoga in Bloomfield, NJ. It was a great time for my practice, exploring new styles of yoga, learning to assist and studying everything I could about the physical and spiritual practice of yoga. I unfortunately had to spend a few months off the mat recovering from back surgery, but that time allowed me to understand that yoga doesn’t only happen in the studio, it happens every moment of the day.

In July of 2014 I became 200HR RYT Certified with Yoga Shelter while I was moving to Cleveland for a new job. Since then I have taken many additional trainings, workshops and certifications to grow and strengthen my practice and teaching. I believe as a teacher I must constantly challenge myself and learn more about this amazing practice. I’m so excited to be back in Michigan and to be a part of the community that started this yoga journey I’ve been on.
