Asana & Pranayama
Physically find a deeper connection to breath and body. Focus in on breathing techniques and alignment cuing in physical postures.
anatomy & Physiology
Learn the reason behind alignment cuing with a comprehensive look at the phsyical body, bones, muscles, body systems and organs.
Dive into the rich history of yoga philosophy, learning the major schools of thought and their impact on our practice and teaching style.
Practice teaching is essential to becoming familiar with leading a class. Learn to give and receive constructive feedback with peers.
Learn everything but the flow. Teaching goes beyond the physical cues; find ways to confidently lead the room, music, and lights.
Become eligible for our mentorship process post training. Receive one-on-one mentoring and further develop teaching skills.

Over the course of the program, we cultivate an environment that is engaging, educational, respectful and safe. While our program is geared towards those who want to teach yoga, we believe teachers come in all forms. Even if you do not want to lead yoga classes, through practice teaching you will gain more knowledge and experience to bring into your personal practice.

+ What style of yoga will I be learning to teach?
Over the course of training, you will learn to teach Slow Flow and Vinyasa classes using signature Yoga Shelter tools. These styles encompass our modern approach to Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. In addition, expect to learn a broad overview of the different styles of yoga.
+ If I’m brand new to yoga can I register for teacher training?
People of all experience levels can benefit from teacher training. Our program is designed to deepen your personal practice and give you the tools to be a novice yoga teacher. We have found it’s beneficial to have a minimum of 6 months of consistent yoga practice before enrolling. If you have not yet started practicing at Yoga Shelter, then we highly recommend taking classes with us before inquiring.
+ How do I register for teacher training?
We require a $500 nonrefundable deposit to register for teacher training. You may pay for this over the phone, in person, or online. You can expect a check-in with our teacher training admin to discuss your goals and clarify your questions before the program begins.
+ Is there a minimum age requirement to take training?
You must be at least 16 years old to take our teacher training program. If you are between 16 and 18 years of age we require written consent from your legal guardian and approval from our lead trainer.
+ I’m not sure I want to teach yoga. Is Teacher Training right for me?
While our program is geared towards those who want to teach yoga we believe teachers come in all forms. Through practice teaching you will gain more knowledge and experience to bring into your personal practice - even if you do not want to lead yoga classes.
+ Can I practice at your studios during training?
Yes! Included in your tuition is an unlimited that begins the date of your registration through the end of the teacher training program. As a training alumni you will receive a lifetime student discount, which includes our 90 day unlimited membership and 10% off full-priced class packages.
+ What is Yoga Alliance? What does it mean to be RYT200?
Yoga Alliance is an organization that was started in 1999 as a way to create nationally recognized standards for yoga teachers and trainings in the US. Our program is designed to meet Yoga Alliance’s requirements for a 200 hour yoga teacher training. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate to register with Yoga Alliance at a 200-hour level.
